About Our Region

When visiting Lethbridge, pay a visit to the well-known Lethbridge Viaduct, commonly known as the High Level Bridge, being constructed between 1907–1909 at a cost of $1,334,525.00.

Just south of the bridge in the Indian Battle Park, is the location of Fort Whoop Up, also known as fort Hamilton, home to the largest period firearm collection in Canada.

Lethbridge is about 240 km (150 miles) south of Calgary and 100 km (65 miles) north of the border with Montana.

Just southwest of this city on the eastern slopes of the rocky Mountains are Waterton Lakes National Park and Glacier National Park (in the US), sharing the designation of an International Peace Park, being one of the best locations to watch wild life, like grizzly bears, black bears, moose, deer as well as mountain sheep and goats.

Just 50 km to the west is Fort MacLeod. This town grew on the location of the Fort Macleod North-West Mounted Police (NWMP) Barracks. The famous Fort MacLeod is located in this town and well worth a visit.
